WHAT HAPPENS DURING GENITAL WART CRYOTHERAPY?

Your provider applies liquid nitrogen directly onto the wart, freezing the tissue so it blisters and falls away within days. The treatment is quick, usually taking just a few minutes.

IS THIS TREATMENT RIGHT FOR EVERYONE?

Cryotherapy is effective for most patients with external genital warts. During your consultation, your provider will confirm if it’s the most suitable option for your case.

WILL IT HURT?

You may feel a sharp, cold sting while the liquid nitrogen is applied. Some mild discomfort, redness, or swelling can follow, but these effects are temporary.

HOW SOON WILL I SEE RESULTS?

Many warts are cleared with one session, but larger or multiple growths may need more than one treatment, spaced a few weeks apart.

DO THE WARTS COME BACK AFTER TREATMENT?

Cryotherapy removes visible warts but doesn’t cure the HPV virus that causes them. It’s possible for new warts to appear later, which can also be treated.

WHAT IS THE DOWNTIME?

Most people return to their normal activities right away. The treated skin may form a blister or scab that heals within 1–2 weeks.
